Virtual 3D Sculpture

Virtual Public Art is gaining more and more recognition and is likely to be seen everywhere in the near future thanks to 3G and 4G technology. This illustration is a virtual sketch of a virtual piece I created on my cell. I made the heart using Picsin Draw and sent it to my computer to finish up in PhotoShop. I can't wait until the day there will be a completely other dimension that is unseen without the help of high tech eyes. To view art like this you need a smart phone app like Layar. After installing Layar you use your cell camera to view and photograph the work.

Use this link to see a realized VPAP (Virtual Public Art Project) that I participated in.

There are so many great things about virtual art: it can be any size, plus it doesn't have to sit on the ground and it can be installed inside or out.

Love Can Hurt

Love hurts sometimes but the sadness can be dulled by the fun of filmmaking. Some of the videocams on G3 phones are amazing. And, so are some of the free apps. For this video we used the pencil filter in Videocam Illusion on our phone, capturing the raw footage by shooting YouTube clips directly from a computer monitor. The rest is typical movie making history, using FinalCut for editing and creating the video clip.

It's easy to create your own YouTube account and upload your video, even directly from your smart phone. Many of you will even be able to watch your new movie on your cell phone. Now, That's Entertainment!

Love is the Blood

Let's say you know you have a glucose problem but don't like keeping track of it because it's a pain. This free 3G app called "OnTrack" will make your life much easier. It gives you the tools to keep a history of things like: blood glucose levels, food intake, medications, blood pressure (BP), pulse, exercise and your weight.

If you still don't want to do this for yourself, then do it for those that L.O.V.E. you.

GPS Luv Tracking

Smart phones have the ability to use GPS technology for a variety of purposes besides traffic directions. There is that Big Brother element about tracking someone around by following their cell signal, but our goal is to take new apps and use them in a loving way.

One idea is to send GPS coordinates to a number of people who have signed up for this project, and dispatch them out into the field. Well, more like the park, in this instance.

We though the spelling of our favorite word "L U V" would be great ideal for use as a sample, obviously there are countless words that would be useful to getting a message out to the world.

This may seem like some pie-in-the-sky plan, but with recent technological advances we could start today. There is a free service called Instamapp that shows you how easy it is to do.

A functioning barcode with a message. Some phone scanners recognize this on the monitor, but if it doesn't work for you, print the flat version above and scan that to see what it says.

If you need a barcode scanner for your cell try this link.
